A fellow Embodiment student gave a class in creative play as a way to open the channel to Soul. When we shared our coloring at the end of class, I realized why I was the only student who had not finished. I had been pressing hard on the pencils and going over each area to make sure it was dense with saturated color. Others had used a lighter touch. It was another lesson in how I "overdo" and that I have the option of "piloting my arrow" with less intensity.
I have adapted the coloring practice and tend to use it now when I'm between projects. It provides a transition that keeps me engaged creatively and keeps the Soul channel open. How I do it: I select a subject that has meaning for me at the time and Google it + "adult coloring pages." I search through the image results and print one that resonates. I clear space where I can leave my coloring pencils for days or weeks. I color whenever and for as long as I'm moved to. I might have 10 minutes while I'm waiting for something to cook or a meeting to start; instead of screentime, I color. Sometimes I start on a section and become immersed in the pattern and colors. An hour may pass.
