At the age of 45, I experienced a stroke while asleep, and awoke the morning of 3 April 2010 to a whole new life as a disabled person. It was a lot to cope with. To help process my experience and to begin writing again, I started a stroke recovery blog on 19 May 2011 and continued posting through 18 Dec 2015. Since that time, I have focused more on living life than on my disability. One day, I may be moved to blog more on this topic and share more techniques, trials and triumphs. Feel free to link to the blog and read all about it. Below are recovery videos made since I stopped blogging.
With more speeds and power than her previous trike, "Tibby" allows Marcelle to keep up with Ian on +20 mile rides. Tires are built for pavement or dirt, so rough tracks and fire roads can be explored. The adaptive left pedal keeps the foot and foreleg aligned, and the recumbent position allows for less strain on the shoulders, wrists and back. Images from bike paths in Los Angeles.
